Japanese camps

i believe that the government should had kept them but not as prisoners. i say this because if the japanese-american citizens were just kept in a camp site not treated like prisoners, then they wouldnt lose their homes and jobs just because they're different. The japanese-americans didnt know what was going on. well the thing is that i want to know is how did the americans treat the japanese in the camps? did they give them food?
